About Websites

Websites can be wonderful sources of information, if used correctly. Keep in mind the following tips and check out this website from Cornell University's Olin&Uris Library, it features a checklist of things to look for when viewing websites.

Tips:

  • Who is the author?
  • How current is the information?
  • Is it  a .com, .gov .,org or .net web address?
  • What's the purpose of the site?
  • Has the information been reviewed?

Citations!

It is important to cite your sources! One of the best resources for this is Purdue University's OWL Writing Lab. The link  below will take you to that page.
