Off-Campus Research Experiences

Besides these programs, you might find other possibilities by looking at other professional societies or SURF programs (for summer research). If you find an interesting program, let Professor Williamsen know. As we learn about new opportunities, we will add them to this list.

Primarily Summer

A number of BCMB faculty members have students work in their laboratories in the summer, either funded by Ursinus or through external grants. Many students work for eight weeks at 40 hours per week, but some of the externally funded projects are extended to ten weeks. Talk to individual faculty members for more information. Applications are usually submitted at the beginning of the Spring Semester.

If you want a better idea of what graduate school will be like, one of these summer research opportunities (primarily at doctoral-granting institutions) may be for you. We have had a number of students who have participated in the program over the past years. Click on the link under a participating institution for more details on a particular program.
