Hints & Tips

1.  You Don't Have to Bake a Cake!

A winning entry can require very little kitchen skill.  A lot can be done by arranging, carving or otherwise manipulating simple store-bought items.   Think about fruits & vegetables, snacks, condiments, etc.

2.  Keep it Simple!

Don't make your entry too complicated.  Your great idea could get lost in the details!

3.  Presentation is Everything!

Be sure your entry makes it to our table looking its best.  Take your time!  If it looks sloppy or falls apart, it won't win.

4.  What's in a Name?

A great title can be key, especially if you're making a pun.  Be sure to pair your entry with a copy of the real book or a cover printout so everyone  gets the joke!

5.  Think Outside the Book!

Be creative and do some research.  Many films and television shows are inspired by or adapted from books.  Don't forget about comic books and graphic novels!
